Natalie Salter

Hi! I’m Natalie, most people just call me Nat. Fuelled by coffee, a touch of chaos, and a trusty to-do list, I’m excited to take on the role of Consumer Engagement and Governance Officer at All Ears & Speech/Little Allied Health.

With 18 years in nursing behind me, I’ve worn many hats in healthcare, but my heart has always been in leadership and creating safe, welcoming spaces for those we care for. I believe in making sure every voice is heard and respected, for both individuals and their loved ones. Working alongside allied health teams taught me just how powerful collaboration can be when people are at the centre of everything.

The most life-changing chapter began in 2017 when I became a mum. My two amazing sons were both born Deaf and now explore the world with cochlear implants. Navigating the system as a parent was a lesson in resilience, figuring out appointments, sharing our story countless times, and advocating to ensure our boys had every opportunity and choice.

But our journey took an unexpected turn when the service we trusted let us down, so much that even Shakespeare would’ve called it “a bit much.” Driven to make sure other families never face the same challenges, I stepped into advocacy, becoming a consumer representative on a statewide committee dedicated to improving the system for others.

These experiences gave me a renewed purpose: to bring together my professional expertise and personal insights, helping families feel supported and empowered, because I know what it’s like to sit on the other side, filled with questions, worries, and hope.

Now, I’m thrilled to work with the very team who stood by my family, and to be part of a movement that puts people first.
